1.10.0 release early next week, hard freeze on Friday

Sebastian Dröge-3
Hi everybody,

short update on the 1.10.0 release situation.

On Friday the hard freeze will start, and only patches that a) fix very
bad bugs and b) someone else reviewed in Bugzilla and considered the
patch to actually fix such a bad bad are allowed to be merged.

On Tuesday, it is then planned to finally get 1.10.0 out, with the
binary releases following a few days later that week.

If there's anything bad that you need to have fixed for 1.10.0, now is
the time to speak up and make it happen

It would be nice if https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=754230
could be included in case it's still in the scope of 1.10.0.

Thanks a lot.

It's not really a bugfix, and it has the potential of breaking
situations that currently work and will stop to work if your new code
is triggered and causes different behaviour.

It will have to wait until after 1.10.0, and might get backported to
1.10.x later if it matured a bit in GIT master first.

Hi,

if I can bring my 5 cents, the following rtspsrc issue would be nice to include as well (patch proposed):
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=770568

And of course the endian conversion optimization:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=773073
But that's an enhancement and rather a larger change, which carries more risk, so I leave this up to your decision.

Thanks
Petr

Will be considered, thanks!

Yes, I'd not include that. Especially as it's an optimization only.

It would be great if the patch attached here would be applied:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=773509

Regards,
Michael
