16-bit YUV format support with gstreamer-1.0

Hi,

Gstreamer video formats (as listed at https://developer.gnome.org/gst-plugins-libs/stable/gst-plugins-base-libs-gstvideo.html) only have support till 10-bit YUV.

Are there any future plans to officially add deeper-than-8/10-bit YUV format support to the gstreamer plugins?

We intend to support  “P016” YUV format (Planar, 4:2:0, 16-bit) with gstreamer plugins.

AYUV64 is 16 bit per compnent, packed 4:4:4:4 YUV. For adding further
formats, please put a patch in Bugzilla together with some reference
where the format is used :)

There are also some 12 bit formats supported btw. The docs on the GNOME
website are a bit old (looks like 1.2, we're at 1.12 nowadays). You can
find the latest docs here:
