Core/Base/Python freeze TOMORROW Monday 3rd March. 18:00 UTC

Jan Schmidt-2
Subject says it all - watch for the freeze, file blocker bugs to make sure
that any known release-delaying problems are tracked. You know the drill.

See http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/wiki/ReleasePlanning2008 for the
timetable. The release date is March 17th. This release follows fairly
closely on the heels of the previous core/base/python releases in January as
part of the 'getting in sync' with a new 3-monthly release cycle for
everything.

Core/Base/Python pre-releases available

Jan Schmidt-6
Like the subject says - I just uploaded the tarballs for Core 0.10.17.2,
Base 0.10.17.2 and Python 0.10.10.2 respectively.

Please test and file blocker bugs against the appropriate modules for
any issues found that need integrating in this release cycle.

Tarballs are at:

http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gstreamer/pre/gstreamer-0.10.17.2.tar.bz2
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-plugins-base/pre/gst-plugins-base-0.10.17.2.tar.bz2
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-python/pre/gst-python-0.10.10.2.tar.bz2

Cheers,
Jan.

Re: Core/Base/Python 2nd pre-releases available

Jan Schmidt-6
A new pair of pre-release tarballs for Core & Base are available. At
this point, there isn't another pre-release of gst-python, but there may
be one in the next few hours updating it for API changes.

The 2 new tarballs are at:

http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gstreamer/pre/gstreamer-0.10.17.3.tar.bz2 and
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-plugins-base/pre/gst-plugins-base-0.10.17.3.tar.bz2

The current gst-python is:

http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-python/pre/gst-python-0.10.10.2.tar.bz2

There are still some blocker bugs to resolve before the scheduled release next Monday, so there may be another set of pre-releases (although probably not from me, since I'll be on a plane to Australia from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning :) )

Re: Core/Base/Python 2nd pre-releases available

Edgard Lima

Hi Jan,
please have a look in  http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=521761

I have put severity as blocker

it affects all case when the internal clock goes to 0 when back to NULL
state.

for example:

alsasrc .... if you have alsasrc as clock provider, then and
NULL -> PLAYING let it playing for X seconds, then
PLAYING -> NULL then
NULL -> PLAYING then the clock it stays frozen for X seconds
until the internal alsarc clock value become greater than X

I'm just waiting for GStremaer guys the OK to commit it. (patch is
already in the open bug)

BR,
Edgard

Re: Core/Base/Python 3rd pre-releases available

Jan Schmidt-2
In reply to this post by Jan Schmidt-6
Updated pre-release tarballs of Core and Base are now available - 0.10.17.4
of each. The latest gst-python pre-release remains at 0.10.10.2.

The pre-releases are

http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gstreamer/pre/gstreamer-0.10.17.4.tar.bz2
and
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-plugins-base/pre/gst-plugins-base-0.10.17.4.tar.bz2

The largest change in these tarballs are modifications to the new GstPoll
API to ensure that it is sufficiently capabable of being used on all supported
platforms, particularly win32.

Even though the release was due yesterday, I'm releasing new tarballs and
deferring the release until Thursday morning GMT in order to give people a
chance to try these new tarballs. I expect they will be the last
pre-releases before the final tarballs though.

Please test them and file bugs.

Cheers,
Jan.
