Hi all,
As covered in a recent thread, I've been away on holiday and the core/base/python releases have been delayed because of it. Those are starting tonight, so expect those modules to freeze in a few hours, and expect the first pre-release tarballs after that. The release timetable is as in http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/wiki/ReleasePlanning2009-1 for Core 0.10.23, Base 0.10.23 and Python 0.10.15 except with all the dates pushed by 9 days. Hi all,
The 2nd pre-release tarballs for each of Core, Base Plugins and the Python bindings are now available at: http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gstreamer/pre/gstreamer-0.10.22.3.tar.bz2 http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-plugins-base/pre/gst-plugins-base-0.10.22.3.tar.bz2 and http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-python/pre/gst-python-0.10.14.3.tar.bz2 These fix a variety of small bugs. Please test them, and file any bugs/regressions in bugzilla - http://bugzilla.gnome.org/ Expect the release Monday 27th April, unless (for some reason) there's a need for more pre-releases before then. Hi all,
Just to let you all know, the release is currently waiting for these regressions in gst-plugins-base to be resolved. After the bugs are fixed, I'll make some new pre-release tarballs, and then the release itself (hopefully) a few days later. With luck, that will happen soon, as the slippage means that Good and Bad are scheduled to freeze for their releases next Monday already... J. Have you tried playing it back using different players (gst-launch/vlc/totem/mplayer/xine), or on different computers? Do you get constant crackling or just once in a while, or ..? Are you using recent versions of things? (core/base 0.10.22, good 0.10.14) You could also create a file with num-buffers=100 or so and upload it somewhere, then people can check if it crackles for them too. Ive found the problem! I was trying before with gxine and Audacious. Audacius doesn't even play the media and gxine totally cracks the sound. Xmms was throwing a error saying that the it couldn´t open the file. It was set to playback using OSS, and had to change to Alsa. Now, using xmms everything is working properly. Now I have to find out why gxine and Audicius ain´t working but it isn't the scope of this list. Tks all who had patient to help me with this beggining. Actually now I have a good notion of everything and Im able step up on my own. Tks! ------------------- Guilherme Longo Dept. Hi all,
I just uploaded the new pre-release tarballs for Core, Base and Python. They fix the blocker bugs we've been stuck on, and should be the final tarballs before release. If there are no further issues found, I'll do the releases Sunday night, and then we can freeze Good and Bad Monday night for a slightly-delayed release cycle of their own. That means that you should file bugs for any plugins that should be considered for moving from Bad to Good or vice versa in this cycle. The new tarballs for Core/Base/Python are at http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gstreamer/pre/gstreamer-0.10.22.4.tar.bz2 http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-plugins-base/pre/gst-plugins-base-0.10.22.4.tar.bz2 and http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-python/pre/gst-python-0.10.14.4.tar.bz2 Please give them the testing love that they deserve, and file any issues in bugzilla - http://bugzilla.gnome.org Cheers, Jan.
