Hello,
I have this rec-applet application which I now prepare for the upcoming
Ubuntu 10.10.10 release.
Rec-applet uses GStreamer pipeline to record audio to various
audio-formats like ogg, mp3 and wav. When recording to MP3-format it
outputs couple of CRITICAL error messages. Other audio formats do not
output these messages.
The saved MP3 file plays well and OK. No problem with that. The messages
are here:
...
Debug:gst-recorder.c, line 495: Pipeline state changed to: READY.
Debug:gst-recorder.c, line 495: Pipeline state changed to: PAUSED.
(rec-applet:6992): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_tag_list_foreach:
assertion `GST_IS_TAG_LIST (list)' failed
(rec-applet:6992): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_event_new_tag: assertion
`taglist != NULL' failed
(rec-applet:6992): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_pad_push_event: assertion
`event != NULL' failed
Debug:gst-recorder.c, line 495: Pipeline state changed to: PLAYING.
...
The entire debug-log from rec-applet is here.

Rec-applet is here:
https://launchpad.net/rec-appletVersion for Ubuntu 10.10 should be ready soon.
Rec-applet gets the pipeline from GNOME's GConf registry.

Thanks in advance.
