Has someone already tried to do AFL (american fuzzy lop) with (at least parts of) GStreamer?

Maurer, Marie

Hello,

just out of interest: Has someone already tried AFL (american fuzzy lop) (or similar fuzzer) with (at least parts of) GStreamer?

Perhaps elements like muxers/demuxers/parsers/encoders/decoders would be interesting.

Has someone build a framework/environment for it?

Or is it (at least not easily) possibly due to difficult and multi-part build system of Gstreamer which is not compatible with AFL?

Best regards,

Marie

Hi,

We are on oss-fuzz [0], so get automated fuzzing (uses AFL and other
techniques). We're gradually adding more and more pipelines and
elements to cover all code but it takes time :)
