How to retrieve the length of a stream without playing it

Adam Brandizzi
Hi, list.

I'm building a little file player with GStreamer (more specifically,
PyGst). I use a GstPlaybin to play the files. I'd like to retrieve the
length of a stream (actually, the length of audio files) but it seems
that gst_query_duration() just returns the length of the stream if it
is being executed, both in PyGst and in "pure" Gstreamer.

So, how could I retrieve the length of a stream without playing it
with GStreamer? Is there some way?

Thanks in advance!
