Missing debug category

Zmad
Hi,

I got a critical error in gstreamer1.0/gst/gstpoll.c:

GStreamer-CRITICAL **: 0x72104408: failed to wake event: Broken pipe

I can't find a GST_DEBUG_CATEGORY_INIT to use. I want to add some debug prints (GST_DEBUG(...)). Without a GST_DEBUG_CATEGORY_INIT I don't know how to debug my application:

    GST_DEBUG=<debug_category>:<level> my_app

Could someone please help me wrap my head around this?

Without a category, it will end up in the "default" category. You could also make your new debug statements GST_ERROR so they can easily be filtered/seen without a debug category :)

Feel free to make a patch to add a static category though if you think it's useful.

Cheers
