Re: gstreamer plugins are not getting installed

Sachin Pandhare
Hi Liu,
- libmad wasn't built because libid3tag wasn't built. does id3tag come in a separate package?
- " BTY, version 0.10.9 is too old." : we have some requirement so using these. :(
Thanks,
Sachin

When you configure ugly, did you see 'mad' plugin got enabled?
Make sure you have libmad installed before compile ugly.

'mad' plugin is used to decode mp3 stream, I don't know whether gst has other decoder support mp3.

BTY, version 0.10.9 is too old.

Subject: [gst-devel] gstreamer plugins are not getting installed correctly?

Hi,
i am working on Fedora 8.
I have compiled following packages:
gstreamer-0.10.9.tar.bz2
gst-plugins-base-0.10.9.tar.bz2
gst-plugins-good-0.10.4.tar.bz2
gst-plugins-bad-0.10.3.tar.bz2
gst-plugins-ugly-0.10.4.tar.bz2

But i am not able to run .mp3, .avi file.
I have tried gst-inspect but it doesn't show any decoder plugin for these

if i do gstreamer-properties, i am able to test audio and video pattern (with autodetect).

i have noticed that libgstavi is present in /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10.

could you please help me in this regard?
let me know if you need any more log/doc.
thanks!
Sachin

Re: gstreamer plugins are not getting installed

Zheng, Huan

Mad element depends on libmad and libid3tag
You need to build these libs before you build mad element

Take a look at this page.
