Ugly/Bad/FFmpeg freeze this Friday 6th March

Jan Schmidt-6
Hi all,

The 3 modules Ugly/Bad/FFmpeg freeze this Friday for releases 0.10.11,
0.10.11 and 0.10.7 respectively.

If there are any plugins that need moving from Bad to Ugly (or vice
versa) in this cycle, please file bugs for them now and mark them as
blockers so I can find them.

As usual, bugs go to http://bugzilla.gnome.org/ and more information
about the release schedule comes from
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/wiki/ReleasePlanning2009-1

Cheers,
Jan.

Hi all,

I'm postponing the freeze and plugin moves until Monday, because of
trouble making distcheck succeed (problems with camerabin integration),
and because I'm going away for the weekend.

I'll do the plugin moves on Monday too.

It'd be nice if someone could figure out why docs/plugins/figures fails
the distcheck and fix it for me.

Cheers,
Jan.

I got the failure at home too, somehow the docs/plugins/figures/Makefile
was disappearin during make. At least its gone when "make distcheck"
does "make clean". At work I run into a different issue before that:

make distcheck V=1
works for me (beside one test failing now).

Ugly/Bad/FFmpeg pre-releases now available

Jan Schmidt-6
The first pre-releases of the Ugly, Bad and FFmpeg plugins modules are
now available at:
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-plugins-ugly/pre/gst-plugins-ugly-0.10.10.2.tar.bz2
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-plugins-bad/pre/gst-plugins-bad-0.10.10.2.tar.bz2
and
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-ffmpeg/pre/gst-ffmpeg-0.10.6.2.tar.bz2
respectively.

Please test them, and file any bugs in http://bugzilla.gnome.org

There will be a second pre-release of (at least) gst-plugins-bad, to
resolve a regression in playback of MPEG program streams
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=574009). Expect the 2nd
pre-release(s) on Friday (13th), and the final tarballs next week
(Tuesday or Wednesday).

Cheers,
Jan.

New pre-releases of FFmpeg and Bad now available

Jan Schmidt-6
Hi all,

There are 2 new pre-releases available - of the FFmpeg and the Bad
modules. The FFmpeg tarball fixes a regression in H.264 and MPEG2
decoding, and restores the amr muxer. The Bad module fixes compilation
against older GLib (< 2.16). The Ugly pre-release is unchanged.

Current tarballs are:
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-plugins-ugly/pre/gst-plugins-ugly-0.10.10.3.tar.bz2
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-plugins-bad/pre/gst-plugins-bad-0.10.10.4.tar.bz2
and
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-ffmpeg/pre/gst-ffmpeg-0.10.6.4.tar.bz2

These new pre-releases will delay the release, to provide time for testing.

Please test them and file bugs at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/

Expect the final releases Friday 20th.

Cheers,
Jan.

Re: New pre-release of Bad now available

Jan Schmidt-6
Hi all,

I just pushed a new pre-release tarball that fixes more compile problems
with GLib < 2.16. Ugly & FFmpeg are unchanged.

Current tarballs are:
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-plugins-ugly/pre/gst-plugins-ugly-0.10.10.3.tar.bz2
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-plugins-bad/pre/gst-plugins-bad-0.10.10.5.tar.bz2
and
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-ffmpeg/pre/gst-ffmpeg-0.10.6.4.tar.bz2

The release is still schedule for this Friday, 20th March.

Cheers,
Jan.

I don't know if it's the right place for this, but I've just
downloaded tha latest bad pre-release and there is an error with the
gstdshowwrapper plugin:

gstdshowvideodec.h(80) : see declaration of '_GstDshowVideoDec'
gstdshowvideodec.cpp(559) : error C2039: 'par_n' : is not a member of
'_GstDshowVideoDec'

gstdshowvideodec.h seems to be outdated.

Regards,
Andoni Morales

Doh - seems you're the first person to discover this. Right before I
made the release tarballs though, so good timing. From the looks, the
only thing needed is to add those 2 variables into the header file, so
I'll do that now.

Patch is attached...

Thanks!
J.

The news and planet announcement link to download tarballs of gst-ffmpeg
point to version 0.10.4 should be 0.10.7
