Use a branch of tee only when there is a key press

Hi,

I am running a video pipeline to encode a video. I create another branch
from source using tee and give it to a jpegenc to capture the frames from
video as jpeg files. Now I need this branch only when I press a key. That is
, say I press 'c', then jpegenc branch should get activated. What can I do ?

Is it possible to pause this branch alone ?
Or any other way?
