We are also using GStreamer in our product, so thanks for asking this
question Christopher.
I posted a quick blog about our gstreamer support, and my experience

If you want to read it, great, but if you want the Coles note version,
I basically say that I was impressed with the docs and this mailing
list. Great response time and helpful answers, which you don't always
get from a mailing list.
