A small update regarding gst-entrans, which so far has only provided some tools
for using GStreamer in a transcoding scenario. In the latest version, it has
been extended with enplayer, a plain-and-simple GStreamer based player written
in python. It is (yet another?) no-frills player but it is easily deployed
and highly configurable (also largely due and thanks to the flexibility of
the GObject/GStreamer framework).

but more so since its lineage actually predates it. It could, however, be
easily adjusted that way.
