gst-libs library version

All gstreamer base libraries installed with the release version in the
extension.
Below is the example of one of the library.

/usr/loca/lib/libgstcheck-1.0.la
/usr/loca/lib/libgstcheck-1.0.so -> libgstcheck-1.0.so.0.1404.0
/usr/loca/lib/libgstcheck-1.0.so.0 -> libgstcheck-1.0.so.0.1404.0
/usr/loca/lib/libgstcheck-1.0.so.0.1404.0

Is is possible to skip build and installation of
/usr/loca/lib/libgstcheck-1.0.so.0 and
/usr/loca/lib/libgstcheck-1.0.so.0.1404.0.

Expecting output some thing like below.
/usr/loca/lib/libgstcheck-1.0.la
/usr/loca/lib/libgstcheck-1.0.so

No, installing the .so suffix would not work. We link against the .0 version. Shared lib versioning is not something we can disable, and it would not be a good practice. The .so though is not needed for run-time.
