gstreamer command line player

Hi All,

I am just a month old to gstreamer & I need to develop a simple media player(audio only) using the available plugins. The player application

has to be command line driven. I mean I should be able to play/pause/stop/seek(for certain duration) based on user inputs on the terminal. 

I am able to play an mp3 (in GMainLoop) but now my question is how do I pass other events to this loop.

any pointers are highly appreciated.
