hlssink connections

How many connections could a "normal" machine support for hlssink ?

Perhaps i3 or i7 with 4G ram kind of machine. Make any other assumptions needed. I'm just trying to get a feel for how many connections in normal circumstances.

I have no clue on the performance characteristics of hlssink, but if you are thinking about serving many users (hundreds+) than you should definitely consider using a proper webserver (e.g. nginx/apache2).

hlssink is just responsible for generating the files to a specified directory. The HTTP delivery is handling by something else of your choice. You should be evaluating the performance of those others as the hlssink file generation should be the same regardless of the number of clients downloading the fragments.
