waits until souce is available

How to recursively check if source is available or not means to say this ip address as mentioned below

 g_object_set (data.source, "uri","rtsp://admin:admin@192.168.1.250:80", NULL);

Lets suppose ip address is not available for some reason as light goes off or something happen.

So i want to wait until it works.

i tried to free all the resources when i get End of stream message and then i recursively call the same method but after some time i got segmentation fault as obvious.

So their any way to come out this problem.

Hope someone has faced same problem before.

Why not just check if the address is pingable ([1] sample C code) from
your client machine and then create the pipeline ?
