Install a single codec

Andrew S
Hi,

I've looked and haven't found information on this anywhere, so am asking here. Are there step-by-step instructions anywhere on how to extract and install a single codec (and all the required dependencies) from one of the packages (good, bad, etc.)? If not, could anyone provide some suggestions?

I know enough to follow instructions for compiling/installing things in Linux (alright, that's not much), but not enough to figure it all out myself. I'd be happy to contribute to the authoring of a how-to if someone can help me figure out the details.

Many thanks,
akinstur

Re: Install a single codec

Liu, Bin

There are some options to enable/disable codecs in the ./configure command, such as --with-plugins, and --disable-FEATURE.

Check “./configure --help” for more details.

Hope this helps.

-Bin.

Hi,

I couldn't get the question completely, but find the answer as per my understandings:
first you need to configure the complete package,
now u can go to individual directories and make that plugin ( decoder or any other )

Let me know if i haven't answered your question.
